Auto Mechanics:
- Have considerable experience with non-computer-related automotive repairs
- Capable of (subject to make/model design) changing/replacing starters,
alternators, brake pads, clutch plates, spark plugs, fuel/oil filters, transmissions,
etc. (may require physical assistance for some of these)
- Have replaced foreign-import car engines
- Have installed cruise control systems, radio/cassette players, etc.
Construction:
- Experienced with framing, roofing (metal and shingles), drywall
- Experienced with electrical house wiring: home runs, 3-way (and more)
switches, breaker box, circuit planning, GFCI plugs, etc.
- Have operated and repaired heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavator, D-6
caterpillar, etc. mostly for pipeline installations
- Can arc weld, with much experience on 4"-12" diameter steel pipe
- Have experience operating a fuser for polyethylene pipe
- Have experience as a survey rodman

- Have worked extensively with Cat-5 ethernet cable installation
- Experienced with patch cables, patch-bay routing, audio and video cabling,
including XLR microphone cables, RG6 coax and others
- Have designed and installed an entire computer lab network of 40 student
computers fully linked on a peer-to-peer network
- Have some experience installing and troubleshooting internal telephone lines
Electronics:
- Capable of soldering/desoldering electronic components
- Able to identify/repair elemental (basic) problems with electronic devices
- Have experience changing/troubleshooting computer hardware components such
as drives, cards, memory chips, cables, etc.
Computers/Software:
- Experienced with installation and troubleshooting of many software programs
including DOS, Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP, MS Office, etc.
- Confident with dpsVelocity/dpsReality professional video-editing
software/hardware solution (1 year experience)
- Amateur programmer in: BASIC, QuickBasic, Visual Basic, Turbo Pascal,
HTML, JavaScript, Perl and have much experience with website creation
- Competent with MS Office, and can program Visual Basic macros for Excel
- Have experience with coax, Ethernet, and wireless networking
Radio:
- Have assisted in the recording of radio broadcast materials in the USA and in
Thailand
- Licensed by the FCC as an Amateur Radio Operator, call sign KB7TTU
Television:
- One year experience as the Station Operator for KHemet Television
- Have some experience with video editing; camera operation (studio and on-site
interviews); master control; patch-bay switching; audio control through a Mackie
16-channel mixer; studio lighting including use of spotlights, Lowell soft lights,
and 3200-degree Kelvin lights; camera switching during live production;
software-rendering of MPEG files; MPEG-II digital playback to air through
Enseo Quartet hardware/software; etc.
- Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) Certified as a Television Operator
- Have thrice attended the National Association of Broadcasters Convention
- Enjoy videoing nature…have spent hours doing so for subsequent broadcast

Satellite:
- Have participated in the installation of various satellite systems including
installing the dish and locating the signal, cabling, receiver setup on dual-dish
systems, etc.
- have some experience with Sky Angel, 3ABN (both here and in Thailand), use
of Manhattan & Scientific Atlanta receivers
- Have helped to adjust the menu settings to receive additional or new channels
such as ATN, LLBN, 3ABN Latino, ACN, etc.
Driving:
- Possess a Class-B CDL with Passenger and Tank endorsements, no restrictions
- Have been bus driver for a summer camp program
- Obtained a commercial driver's license in Thailand for transporting students
around the country in a large truck (country folks' bus!)—this entailing a two-day
class and subsequent test all in the Thai language!
- School duties in Thailand often included driving for school errands, supplies,
etc.
- Clean driving record
Traveling/Culture:
- Have traveled in about 30 countries, including nearly all of North America,
much of Europe, and South-east Asia
- Feel comfortable with nearly any mode of transportation
- Have lived at least one year in five different countries
- Have lived in eight different states, and have traveled in nearly all of the
continental U.S.
Languages:
- Extremely fluent English (native language) with excellent spelling, grammar,
reading, vocabulary, type approx. 45 wpm
- Fluent Spanish (studied one year in Spain) with excellent spelling, reading, and
good grammar, vocabulary (see also next two sections)
- Conversational Thai (wife is Thai) with essentially fluent spoken language,
average reading, poor spelling (without a dictionary), limited typing ability
Teaching:
- Certified teacher (TN K-12, WA 7-12); B.A. Spanish, minors Biology, Religion
- Two years substitute experience teaching all subjects and levels, with much
experience teaching in Spanish for language transition and newcomers' programs
- Three years experience teaching English as a Second Language in Thailand
Preaching/Evangelism:
- Have preached in English numerous times, including use of PowerPoint
- Have preached in Spanish several times, and have translated sermons from
English to Spanish
- Have assisted with leading the children's evangelism classes in Spanish for
about five separate Hispanic series in the northwest
- Have preached in Thai and have been asked to translate from English to Thai
Music:
- Amateur musician, with good singing voice (bass) and sight-reading ability
- Play by note: trumpet, trombone (played each a year in band & brass choir)
- Play by ear: piano, accordion, trumpet, trombone, violin, saw, and more
- Have enjoyed participating in more than six choirs, and have had vocal training
- Have some experience directing a choir
- Have good ear for pitch and have tuned more than 15 pianos, including
rebuilding one piano (They say you're not an expert until you've tuned 1000!)
